Our first “Industry Night” job event hit the mark!
On the 30th of November 2022, Flanders Metals Valley organized its first “Flanders Metals Valley Industry Night” which took place at the KU Leuven. This job event brought over 120 master students in contact with 11 member companies of the Flanders Metals Valley. These participating companies were:
- Aluminium Duffel
- Aperam
- ArcelorMittal
- Aurubis
- CRM Group
- Inspyro
- McKinsey
- Nyrstar
- Ocas
- Umicore
- VITO
In the aula of the KU Leuven, each member company gave an interesting pitch about the many job opportunities which they had on offer, after which students could move on to 1 on 1 conversations at company booths in the entrance lobby.
This casual networking moment with food and drinks created an ideal atmosphere and environment for contacts to be made and details to be exchanged.
The goal of Flanders Metals Valley is to make this initiative an annual reoccurring event and to copy this format at other member universities as for example the UGent, the VUB and the UAntwerpen.
Students also have the opportunity to explore the many job opportunities the Flemish metallurgical sector has to offer via the job pages available on the www.flandersmetalsvalley.be website. They can even apply for an internship and fill out their request online which is then passed on to the members of the Flanders Metals Valley so they can interact.
