FMV Seminar: Scrap

  • Date: 23/10/2024
  • McKinsey Brussels Office
    Brederodestraat 2 - 1000 Brussels

Join us as we delve into the pivotal role of scrap in shaping a sustainable future. Understand how scrap, often overlooked, is a vital resource, fueling the circular economy and reducing our reliance on primary resources. Let’s celebrate the transformative power of scrap, a testament to the adage, ‘Waste is only waste if we waste it’.

The programme starts at 13h30 with a welcoming coffee at the offices of our gracious host McKinsey, where the keynote speeches will start at 14h. The day will end after a nice networking session.

Mr. Jean-Christophe Pierret, Program Leader Circular Steelmaking at CRM,  will excite us with his presentation on ‘Evolution in steel scrap recyling for a sustainable tomorrow’.

Mr. Dirk Durinck, Senior knowledge expert Metals & Mining at McKinsey and Mr. Steven Vercammen, Senior Expert at McKinsey, will talk to us about ‘Circularity in Metals – A European scrap perspective’.

Our exciting final speaker is mr. Jimmy De Wilde, Plant General Manager at Aperam. Mr. De Wilde will share valuable insights on “Circular Economy At the Heart of Aperam’s Strategy,” highlighting how sustainable practices are integral to modern manufacturing and resource management.

We are looking forward to welcoming you on the 23d of October at 13h30, at the splendid offices of McKinsey, Brederodestraat 2 – 1000 Brussels.
