Electric Technician (F/M/X) at CRM Group

The CRM Group’s Advanced & Smart Surface Solutions (A3S) unit develops new coatings and surface treatments to bring innovative functionalities to metal products and implements them in a variety of applications (photovoltaics, fuel cells, Li-ion batteries, smart objects, surface protection in harsh environments, etc.). Among the processes used to functionalize surfaces, dry deposition (vacuum plasma deposition) and wet deposition technologies are used.

In addition to laboratory simulators, the CRM Group also has large pilot tools for carrying out surface treatments.

The A3S unit is made up of a dynamic team of multidisciplinary managers and technicians, working in close collaboration on different research projects and also in a transversal way with the other units of the group. The ability to work in a team is therefore a key competence. Interpersonal skills are also essential to maintaining the good working atmosphere that exists within the team. The unit’s potential for innovation on today’s major issues (energy, digitalisation, environment, etc.) is very significant and generates disruptive research projects and motivating challenges, requiring an ability to acquire new skills and an aptitude for flexibility.

The direct supervisor supports a participative management style, open dialogue and initiative.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • You will be responsible for vacuum deposition, electroplating, thermal spraying, electrostatic spray simulators,… in the lab and in pilot version. Carrying out tests according to a protocol (production of samples) and demonstrators (samples integrated into a functional module)
  • You will ensure preventive and curative maintenance of the equipment; interface with equipment manufacturers and subcontractors.
  • You will adapt and develop equipment and methods in connection with the improvement of safety, the reliability of tools, the needs of projects, the implementation of sensors or new processes.
  • You will participate in the design and production of new equipment (lab, pilot).

Who are you?

  • You have a bachelor’s degree (A1) in electromechanics with an electrical orientation;
  • Ideally, you have a first experience in a professional environment;
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, in the field of surface treatments, in particular vacuum plasma and thermal spraying is a plus;
  • You are a team player, flexible, rigorous, have a spirit of initiative and the ability to work on different projects in parallel;
  • You are fluent in French and have a good knowledge of English;
